Some of the top SEO trends in 2015 are the growth of ranking factors that worked in 2013 and 2014. Chief amongst them are the growing importance of editorial content and it’s partner in crime, social media. Bring these together in the right way, and your marketing is onto a winner.

Social signals are second only to content as a ranking factor – blend the two together and you’ve got a winning strategy.
In a nutshell, if you can produce a piece of content, be it a blog post or well written landing page copy that’s engaging and creative and then proceed to promote the article via social media, it gets shared around:
- Search engines spot this beautiful prose and decide its popularity is worth promoting.
- The more said search engine promotes it, the better ranked it becomes and it gains more shares purely by being in the limelight.
It also outlines why being in the Number One slot in the search engine results isn’t the be-all and end-all of a good marketing campaign; being there does generate more enquiries, but unless the content on your website is elegant enough to produce conversion, it’s not guaranteed to convert customers any more than being on the second page would.
